OUR SYSTEMATIC APPROACH

A system where each phase of the process, from beginning to end, is spelled out clearly so our clients know what to expect from us and what we need to accomplish at each stage to move forward.

  1. Consultation - meeting with our in-house designer at the Selection Center

  2. General Estimate - based on predetermined layouts to provide a general idea of cost basis. The Design Specialist will gather preliminary information and discuss packaging & pricing options with the prospective client. If at that time, our system and preliminary pricing appeals to the prospective client we move forward to a hard estimate

  3. In Home Consultation + Measurement with our construction representative who gathers more detailed information about the home, including mechanicals, plumbing, electric, structural integrity, obstructions, etc. and the homeowner who can share their ideas and ‘Must & Maybe Renovation List’ for their project. the Construction Rep gathers the information needed , the designer receives the measurements and information to design the kitchen and/or bathroom and create preliminary package pricing

  4. Formal Written Estimate, Initial Design Review & Product Presentation with our designer & construction representative in the Selection Center. The design is presented in detail and any questions or small changes can be addressed at that time. A selection palette is also presented for the client’s approval or if needed, changes. The Construction Rep then reviews the hard estimate in detail and discusses pricing. When all the information has been reviewed and questions answered, it’s customary to schedule a follow up appointment to present a revised plan and/or contract if needed

  5. Design & Contract Revision Presentation with our Design Specialist & Construction Representative at the Selection Center at the Selection Center - A revised plan and/or contract is presented for approval. At this point in the process, the prospective client has a choice to sign the contract and move forward with the project or if more design work is desired before contract signing, Cabinet Styles requires a $500.00 deposit to continue with further design hours. this is a non-refundable deposit toward the cost of the project

  6. Final Contract Signing with our construction representative at the Selection Center. The final updated contract is presented for signature

*(All changes must be noted, upgrades included, and overall final layout approved)

  7. Final Selection Meeting at the Selection Center with our Design Specialist. All product choices and quantities are finalized and ready to order

  8. Final In Home Consultation - scheduled after final contract and design are signed and products are being ordered. Our Construction Rep and possibly the Renovation Leader will verify all information and discuss the plan for reconstructing the space. The Construction Manager, at this phase will schedule the project particulars. Our Design Specialist along with the Construction Representative coordinate manufacturer & Vendor direct shipments with our client and construction scheduling.

*(At this time we can schedule the project start date contingent on delivery of all products)

  9. Construction - The day that the project begins, if the client hasn’t demoed the space prior to now, our demolition crew will remove and dispose of whatever is necessary and listed in the scope of work.

The next step is rough in when the licensed plumber and electrician install what’s needed for the new floorplan. If there are any other sub level rough ins, this is the stage where it’s possible.

Once this stage is complete, drywall, subfloor and ceiling installation and/or repair are done. There are times when a finished floor will be installed at his point. Our Prep Crew will do everything needed so that the Trim Carpenter can come in and install cabinetry and the remainder of the flooring depending on what surface the client selects.

Once cabinets are level and installed, the countertop fabricator will template the area for new countertops. This stage is mandatory for kitchens, but if a standard vanity top is ordered, the template is not required. Templated countertops are fabricated and installed approximately two weeks after template. This maybe the time when there is a break in the work schedule depending on how large the project is.

Following the countertop installation, the tile backsplash and the appliances will be installed also. The plumber and electrician will revisit the site to make all connections that are outlined in the contract. Depending on the scope of work, there may be other professionals needed to complete a remodel. Architect, HVAC Tech, Faux Paint/Wall Paper Installer or hardwood flooring company to patch and refinish. When this occurs, we employ the proper companies to complete work needed. Below is a breakdown of the necessary crews and the order they are needed on the site.

    o   Demolition Crew

    o   Rough In’s + Sub Level Crew

o   Trim Carpenter + Flooring Installation

    o   Countertop Fabricator

The Design Specialist and Construction Manager co-ordinate the entire project and assemble the professionals that will be working in the client’s home. The Construction Manager will be a constant throughout the project. He will be making frequent check stops at the site to ensure that construction is running smoothly. The Design Specialist is also available through the project for questions regarding the design or products being used at the client’s home.  We ask that our clients always call or email us when they have any concerns about the project. We are happy to answer any questions and put our client’s mind at ease.

  10. Post Construction Checklist + Wrap Up - When we are nearing completion or complete, there is a final meeting at the site where everything is checked, any remaining items such as cabinet hardware and touch ups are scheduled for installation, any remaining debris is removed and if there are any replacements needed, we take note and if not already on order, we place it right away. Some of these parts or minor issues that are common are cabinet drawer heads and doors that may have been damaged in shipping, hinge & runner adjustments to straighten doors and drawers light globes and/or defective pieces that didn’t interfere with the installation of the new room but need to be addressed and remedied as soon as possible. There may be a follow up visit where your Construction Manager or Carpenter will revisit the site and make the final adjustments.
